The Egyptian national football team (Arabic: منتخب مصر لكرة القدم), nicknamed The Pharaohs (Arabic: الفراعنة), is the national team of Egypt and is administered by the Egyptian Football Association. They are the current African Champions having won the 2010 African Nations Cup. They are also the most successful African team at Confederation level, winning the CAN seven times: the inaugural African Nations Cup in Sudan 1957, and also won the tournament in the United Arab Republic 1959, Egypt 1986, Burkina Faso 1998, Egypt 2006, Ghana 2008 and Angola 2010.

so let us just be happy for a while

some might say its just a game

it is a metaphor and a foreshadow

when we believe in our selves and when the 80 million pairs of eyes give strength to a group of people they can touch the sky
things can change
this is not cheesy talk
all of those who did things first believed
first prayed
first closed their eyes and imagined it
yes God hears your prayers you with the pure heart
last night we were the champions
every night we can be champions
we are winners always were
we do not need the tallest building
we do not need the fastest metro
we have problems but when we have hope we become stars
the men of the street danced last night
the cynical criticize even the victory
the cynical will never smile
they are the losers
if they hate it so much, then why don't they leave?
this land should only carry those in love with it
the man who spits on this earth, the earth will spit back on him
the land is wide go somewhere else
my egypt does not need you
nor does it need your unfaithful body and soul on it's soil
leave her alone
it is already over populated
we are the kings
we are the winners
we are the grandchildren of the pharos
like it or not we are great
God is Great

believe and unite

the people of Egypt finally smiled last night
I hope they always smile
I hope one day everything in this great nation becomes like our national soccer team
