i hope your way is clear
i hope your path is easy
i hope you find your way

i hope we always stay close
i hope we we see things together
even if differently

i hope you get where i come from
i hope venus makes sense to you
i hope one day i can understand mars

i hope i grow up and see how easy it could be
i hope we can always be together

i hope our days are filled with joy
i hope we make it

i hope we use our bodies wisely
i hope we know their value
i hope we use this vehicle right
this container of ours i hope we fill it with light

i hope our path is smooth
although a long the way
i have seen others struggle
please God help them
and please do not let us taste the bitterness of seperation

please God let our days smile with us and not laugh at us

let is be easy
let it be smooth
let it be heaven on earth

Dearest God place yourself first in our hearts
let the path be bright
let us be pure
let us be light

please God bring us close and hold us tight
please keep your names in our hearts

we are yours every day and every night
give us strength and joy from you

dear God bring our travelers back safely
heal our sick today and make them smile

mend the broken hearts
color our world with more peace

let the darkness pass tonight

let us be free of the grudges of the heart
let us be free of the black and closed heart
let us be friends with the good people
let the others leave us
let them not even see us

let the joy of your love keep us company when the crowds are gone every night.
please God let this life be easy
let it be easy
let it be smooth

stay in our hearts
let sleep always come
walk with us under your sun

strong and alone

being in love
mated for life as an intention
you tend to lose many of your skills as a survivor
you depend on another
for finding someone to share your time
you depend on them to share your food
you get addicted to their presence
you get addicted to their voice
you become an addict to that person

they enter your consciousness your psyche
your spirit and you become transparent
you share your core
your d.n.a
your essence
all of you

and then when you part
even for a short time
you are left like an addict without your drug
lost
itching for them
in pain
in fear
in confusion

you miss them
you miss the you you know now
the you that spends time with them

your friends
your family
your lovers
your husbands
your wives
your children

they come too close
in a dangerous zone

we have to learn to be strong alone
in love but strong
sensitive but strong

keep yourself when you fall in love
keep your self no one else will keep it for you

keep your self when in love
keep your soul when you give
give but not parts of yourself
give only love
do not give your soul
do not give your being

stay strong
stay strong
when alone stay strong
remember your true self

remember the first relationship ever the divine one with your self
and when they leave or when you leave for a while
for a longer time than the time you were prepared to do with
your comfort zone is altered
it is dangerous being in love

you get swallowed
you think you do not need anything else
you tangle your soul around the person
you think you have rights of knowledge
you think you should be the first to know about all the details

you think you are betrayed when only parts of stories are told
deep love makes you expect so much
deep love makes you lose your self
deep love makes you drown deep in a fantasy world
where you give your heart and soul

you become a witness of another life
and when they leave you are shocked to know you lost parts of yourself
you can not function
being so young
you forgot your past
being so moldable you gave in to their form and lost your own shape

being alone you try to remember who you were
what you used to do
who you used to call
who you used to be
and where you used to go

when someone becomes your routine
your every day life they enter your consciousness
they reshape your existence and you suffer consequences alone
no body knows or imagines the pain love brings

is it easier having a solid heart
a heart shielded with walls
a heart that works under the mind
a heart that knows when to stop giving
a heart that preserves it self!

i want that heart that aches less and feels more joy

angels and me

Angels are messengers of God in the Hebrew Bible (translating מלאך), the New Testament and the Quran.
The term "angel" has also been expanded to various notions of "spiritual beings" found in many other religious traditions.
The theological study of angels is known as angelology. In art, angels are often depicted with wings, ultimately reflecting the descriptions in the Hebrew Bible, such as the chayot in Ezekiel's Merkabah vision or the Seraphim of Isaiah.

the suburban experience

for one week i am back to the suburbs where i grew up
i have forgotten about the traffic in cairo and its crazy ways
it has almost stopped completely
it is a near death experience driving at night on the "mehwar" or the ring road

the list is scary:
no lights
trucks of crazy sizes changing lanes like maniacs
they keep changing the way the road looks you never know if you missed your exit

being female in a traffic jam you have to put up with the staring masses not only the frustration of being trapped.
i decided to drive after being a passenger for one year, it was not a wise decision
i discovered i have lost many of my skills when i moved back to the city
i am not brave anymore
i lost my survival skills on the cairo road
i got used to having someone drive that i stopped looking at the road and now it looks so different

if you are hungry on the road you are screwed because you might have to wait for hours with a stomach that is louder than the traffic. You need thick skin and a lot of practice to move between the crazy masses.

I looked to the car next to me and i find a man holding a gun, i try to escape him and my heart beats faster than ever but we are all stuck on the road. I put the volume up of the Quran that I believe will protect me through this nightmare.

when i finally reach my parents house in the suburbs i have no will of repeating this experience and i cancel my plans with friends and i end up staying home. Sleeping in until 1 pm and not having the will to get any job done.

my studio awaits me but my bed pulls me closer to the covers and my body is so heavy that i feel like doing nothing all day.
the benefits of the suburban life is fresher air, more green, more quiet once you get there.

Isolation is what you experience because no one will pass by your house and you can not take a walk to the super market.

Sleeping becomes the answer to your problems and getting up seems like the hardest thing.
Dreams become more elaborate and you start hating the high way and all the dangers it brings.

today, tomorrow and the traveller

what is the difference anyway?
who says today is less important than tomorrow?
yet we always get caught up in the planning process
we plan a few days of traveling for months and the memories of the traveled days stay forever.
the other days melt into one exact routine and you can not tell which day was which
they all look the same anyways.

days pass so quickly and often too slow
days and months and years things we have no idea how they came?
how they go? and for others the timing changes.
when you travel you realize how mundane your old life is
how small your problems are
in the airport you know from what you see that people can be so different and so many
so many people with different agendas with different lives
so many details and complexities and layers of dynamics we know nothing about

familiar faces do not exist
on the plane you are in no mans land
no time applies
no rules apply maybe that is why people behave differently when they travel
some deviate thinking in the other country nobody knows you so you can even walk naked in the street

others apply the same morals anywhere thinking nothing changes
crossing geographical borders does not equal crossing moral borders

in another country you get the same rush of wearing a costume
a new identity
you can be anyone
a blank slate
nobody knows who you used to be in your hometown
you can start fresh be all the things you wished you were

what if in our own country we get that vibe of the traveller?
and get things done
like time is not on our side
be nicer like nobody knows how mean we used to be
be our true selves, not our old identities stuck in the familiar crowd

the rush of travel and the take off, that takes layers of boredom off your skin, and a new layer of excitement is spread on your body that glows and makes us shine in the foreign land can not be mimicked in your own town

kalemny shokran

this is about an egyptian movie that depicts the sad truth of the state of the egyptians today.

The Egyptians are very familiar with the words "kalemny Shokran" or call me please.
it is a text message you can send for some one to call you when you are out of minutes.

Most of our population are below the poverty line

This movie is about them
Many will complain from the verbal vulgarity of the script.
Others will find most of the scenes are sexual and too much for the conservative viewer.

Cinema was meant to depict the truth, to document the state of things as they happen.
The truth is shocking for our society in the bubble, we see nothing but our driver and maids as they twirl to get the job done.
We complain about their lack of smiles and their frustration, see the movie know where your help come from.

It is like slum dog millionaire, we have become like the slums of india. the only difference is that our people are obsessed with the cell phone.

All their money goes in paying for a phone, it is the one thing they really care about.
Watching the satellite channels is the other thing that gives them joy. Soccer too is the other drug for them.

Khaled Youssef manages to make you laugh through the misery of all the events.
One thing the Egyptians will not lose is their sense of humor.

An obsession with the sexual spreads in the slums, and things got mixed up, borders are crossed.

Watching this movie is coming face to face with the truth beyond the four seasons and the compounds we live in.

we are a very small percentage of our society and we know nothing about the struggling people who dream of nothing but a phone like yours and watching the cool channels that you watch.

sex and drugs are what keeps them going, sounds like the seventies or that they are rock and roll artists, but it gives them a sense of humor not found in the middle east or west.

inside the slums it is not as conservative as you might think, it is a wild world where everything mixes and even children smoke up.

Our beloved Shweikar is back with an amazing performance, we really missed her, and she returned with more charm than anytime before. One thing is for sure this cast can act.

The truth is bitter but until when will we go to see jennifer aniston's new movie and ignore the local masterpieces.
Talent exists and please pop your bubble and see what the locals have to offer, you will be shocked to know we have talent.
There is nothing shocking we always did.

The government refuses to let go of it's stupid ways and you will see what I mean when you see this movie. I think Khaled youssef is more in touch with what the people can watch than his late teacher Youssef Chahine. His movies are easier to understand than those of his mentor Youssef Chahine.

People come out of the movie saying. so what is this movie trying to say? what is the message? the truth is cinema does not have to offer answers and solutions, it is not the answer to the problem, however it does highlight the current state of things. A good movie makes you see things you did not know existed. I hope the high officials see this movie, it is directed for them to see the mess they left ignored.

Maybe one day a movie like this inspires a high government official to help the struggling masses.

Egypt; you lack so much but one thing is for sure; in you is a treasure of good art and artists.

good morning sunshine

good morning to all of the waking world
the rest will follow when we sleep

love makes the heart so breakable
love makes you so vulnerable

as girls in tiny dresses we are always in the passenger's seat
waiting for things to happen to us

but so are men
things just happen fate takes turns

we say the good is yet to come
but how do we know

that is hope
a leap of faith makes us go through our simple days

some little prayer eases the way
makes you befriend the master of the game

who lays the plans?
who else commands?

nowadays nothing is personal
we are all out there

we are all vulnerable
we are also powerful

we can be victims
we can also be in control

it takes a change of attitude
to do the make over

to be in charge
to take control

today we can start to see things clearly
today the sunshine says it all

a new chance for change for all

every dawn a new life starts
every day you have new cells
you are not the same person everyday
you are new everyday

good morning sunshine
start your day

shock

its painful
but good for you
it shakes the status quo
makes u rethink
of all you are and your ways
tests come like that
in a surprise
just when you start getting comfortable thinking things are finally going your way
the rug gets pulled from under your feet
and you think that was not expected
you did not prepare yourself
just when you put your guard down
it comes from those who came under your skin
the worst surprise comes from the closest ones
those you thought were once you
you think you can unite with someone
but no

you are one person separate

trust but do not close your eyes
do not be blind
do not lose the sense of who you are
keep focus
keep awareness
keep your balance
be centered

do not get confused

remember you
if you forget nobody will for you

shock comes after peace to stir things up and remind you that nothing is permenant
not even you

truth and parts of it

what is considered lying?
what is considered personal information?

how much should we share?
how much of what we keep is lying and how much is okay?

why are women supposed to share the details of their plans and men can keep their details to themselves?

why is female equal to open book?
and why is male equal to too busy to share?

should we share or should we keep things to our selves
things that only bring us closer

is it the tiny trivial information that make us friends
how much should you tell
how much should you keep
and why does it hurt so much to be the last to know?

why?

Why may refer to:
A request for an evidential reason

reality

Reality

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reality, in everyday usage, means "the state of things as they actually exist."[1] Literally, the term denotes what is real; in its widest sense, this includes everything that is, whether or not it is observable or comprehensible. Reality in this sense includes being and sometimes is considered to include nothingness, as well. By contrast, the term existence is often restricted solely to being (compare with nature).

Hand-coloured version of the anonymous wood engraving known as the Flammarion woodcut (1888).

The term reality first appeared in the English language in 1550, originally a legal term in the sense of "fixedproperty."[2] It originated from the Modern Latin term realitatem, which was from Late Latin realis; the meaning of "real existence" is from 1647 onwards.[2]

anger

anger

Anger

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Anger of Achilles, byGiovanni Battista Tiepolo depicts the Greek hero attacking Agamemnon

Anger is an emotion. The physical effects of anger include increased heart rate, blood pressure, and levels of adrenaline andnoradrenaline.[1] Some view anger as part of the fight or flight brain response to the perceived threat of harm.[2] Anger becomes the predominant feeling behaviorally, cognitively, and physiologically when a person makes the conscious choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force.[3] The English term originally comes from the term angr of Old Norse language.[4] Anger can have many physical and mental consequences.

The external expression of anger can be found in facial expressions, body language, physiological responses, and at times in public acts of aggression.[5] Humans and non-human animals for example make loud sounds, attempt to look physically larger, bare their teeth, and stare.[6] Anger is a behavioral pattern designed to warn aggressors to stop their threatening behavior. Rarely does a physical altercation occur without the prior expression of anger by at least one of the participants.[6] While most of those who experience anger explain its arousal as a result of "what has happened to them," psychologists point out that an angry person can be very well mistaken because anger causes a loss in self-monitoring capacity and objective observability.[7]

Modern psychologists view anger as a primary, natural, and mature emotion experienced by all humans at times, and as something that has functional value for survival. Anger can mobilize psychological resources for corrective action. Uncontrolled anger can, however, negatively affect personal or social well-being.[7][8] While many philosophers and writers have warned against the spontaneous and uncontrolled fits of anger, there has been disagreement over the intrinsic value of anger.[9]Dealing with anger has been addressed in the writings of the earliest philosophers up to modern times. Modern psychologists, in contrast to the earlier writers, have also pointed out the possible harmful effects of suppression of anger.[9] Displays of anger can be used as a manipulation strategy for social influence.[10][11]

In terms of the seven deadly sins, anger is the sin wrath.

marriage

Marriage is a social union or legal contract between individuals that creates kinship. It is an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged by a variety of ways, depending on the culture or demographic. Such a union may also be called matrimony, while the ceremony that marks its beginning is usually called a wedding and the marital structure created is known as wedlock.

People marry for many reasons, most often including one or more of the following: legal, social, emotional, economical, spiritual, and religious. These might include arranged marriages, family obligations, the legal establishment of a nuclear family unit, the legal protection of children and public declaration of love.[1][2]

Marriage practices are very diverse across cultures, may take many forms, and are often formalized by a ceremony called awedding.[3] The act of marriage usually creates normative or legal obligations between the individuals involved. In some societies these obligations also extend to certain family members of the married persons. Almost all cultures that recognize marriage also recognize adultery as a violation of the terms of marriage.[4]

External recognition can manifest in a variety of ways. Some examples include the state, a religious authority, or both. It is often viewed as a contract. Civil marriage is the legal concept of marriage as a governmental institution irrespective of religious affiliation, in accordance with marriage laws of the jurisdiction. If recognized by the state, by the religion(s) to which the parties belong or by society in general, the act of marriage changes the personal and social status of the individuals who enter into it.

love

Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection[1] and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my husband"). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.

As an abstract concept, love usually refers to a deep, ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for another person. Even this limited conception of love, however, encompasses a wealth of different feelings, from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic loveto the nonsexual emotional closeness of familial and platonic love[2] to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love.[3] Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.

faith

Faith is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.[1][2] The word "faith" can refer to a religion itself or to religion in general. As with "trust", faith involves a concept of future events or outcomes, and is used conversely for a belief "not resting on logical proof or material evidence."[3][4] Informal usage of the word "faith" can be quite broad, and may be used in place of "trust" or "belief."

Faith is often used in a religious context, as in theology, where it almost universally refers to a trusting belief in a transcendent reality, or else in a Supreme Being and/or this being's role in the order of transcendent, spiritual things.

Faith is in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true.[5] It is the belief and the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, based on his or her authority and truthfulness.[6] The English word faith is dated from 1200–50, from the Latin fidem, or fidēs, meaning trust, akin to fīdere, which means to trust.[1]
