today, tomorrow and the traveller

what is the difference anyway?
who says today is less important than tomorrow?
yet we always get caught up in the planning process
we plan a few days of traveling for months and the memories of the traveled days stay forever.
the other days melt into one exact routine and you can not tell which day was which
they all look the same anyways.

days pass so quickly and often too slow
days and months and years things we have no idea how they came?
how they go? and for others the timing changes.
when you travel you realize how mundane your old life is
how small your problems are
in the airport you know from what you see that people can be so different and so many
so many people with different agendas with different lives
so many details and complexities and layers of dynamics we know nothing about

familiar faces do not exist
on the plane you are in no mans land
no time applies
no rules apply maybe that is why people behave differently when they travel
some deviate thinking in the other country nobody knows you so you can even walk naked in the street

others apply the same morals anywhere thinking nothing changes
crossing geographical borders does not equal crossing moral borders

in another country you get the same rush of wearing a costume
a new identity
you can be anyone
a blank slate
nobody knows who you used to be in your hometown
you can start fresh be all the things you wished you were

what if in our own country we get that vibe of the traveller?
and get things done
like time is not on our side
be nicer like nobody knows how mean we used to be
be our true selves, not our old identities stuck in the familiar crowd

the rush of travel and the take off, that takes layers of boredom off your skin, and a new layer of excitement is spread on your body that glows and makes us shine in the foreign land can not be mimicked in your own town
