peace found in deep sleep

what does it mean if you sleep so much?
if you are so tired so fast?
low blood pressure?
too much social pressure?

The Cairo life is exhausting, you are in this spiral, running and running.
Trying to keep everyone satisfied, going to all these places, eating all this food and if you do not eat you are condemned rude.
Wearing all these clothes, and shaking so many hands.
Although so many hands do not want to be shaken if you know what I mean.

So many people not worth seeing.
So many people worth seeing.
So many strangers have become familiar faces
because we all run in the same narrow circle.
So many rules to follow.
So many eyes to put up with.
And worst of all so many nosy questions to answer.

If you are a girl and you are single, you will not be left a lone. You become a couch case in need of psychoanalysis. why? what is wrong? and everyone is so concerned and worried.

If you find love, complete strangers will ask you when will they be invited to the wedding.
When you get married people suck answers out of you about when you plan to have a baby.
If you have a baby girl, and my best friend told me about that, they will pity you and console you telling you next time hopefully you will get the boy.
If you have two girls you will be treated like a handicap, if you have all boys you will get sympathetic eyes and prayers for the girl.

They always manage to make you feel like wherever you are, it s not enough, and people you meet for the first time will keep asking and asking and they wont stop.

You want to tell them it is really non of their business, but in many cases they are older and everyone is watching you reply expecting all the rules of age in our culture to apply.

Going out in Cairo you will be interrogated, closely watched, and for some hidden reason always criticized.

If you are an introvert, they will call you a snob, if you are friendly they will call you fake, and if you are natural or positive they will freak out.

if you like to stay home away from the crowd you might be thought of as sick in the head, or stuck up.

but it does not stop, the questions will follow you, the comments will bother you, and everyone gives themselves so many rights, so much courage to just dive in your waters and find out everything about you.

Good friends often think cursing you as a joke is fun and casual, or better yet always laughing at your dreams is normal.

The whole population thinks you have all the energy for listening to them complain and complain over things you know they can solve, you keep coming up with answers but they seem not to have ears for you.

sometimes you want to get a tattoo on your forehead saying SHUT UP!

but then again, you love the land, the people care, and you are bound to stay, and the sun is worth it. All you need to do is keep your distance or else everyone will crawl all over you.

And you lose your self in some deep sleep.
