whoever said it was easy

i am baby sitting
my precious niece and nephew only for a few days.
i thought it was easy, i judged the young mothers of our time for complaining about the pleasures
of parenting. Oh God it is not easy, it is a full time job.

how do mothers work, how do they get other jobs done?
motherhood is a 24/7 job and Oh God anything could happen.

God created them tiny for a reason
their size makes you want to take care of them
they are also cute for a reason so you can handle the sacrifices you make
they have adorable voices for a reason, so that you could take the unlimited questions

they are little people who are so vulnerable and so dependant on you.
for food, for fun, for their safety. if you werent so busy running after them you will end up crying just thinkiing of them and how vulnerable they are.

they do not know anything about the world by the time you are done with taking care of them they often start resenting you.
and then they get married and leave you or move out and get a life where your friends bore them to death.
how do you make sure they are not bullied at school?
how do you make sure they are kind but not push overs?
how do you make sure they are always safe?
and when they grow up how do you make sure their hearts arent broken?
that they are healthy, that they are happy.
how do you tell them that one day it will all be over?
how do you tell them sometimes bad things happen to good people?
how do you explain goodbyes?
how do you explain sex and drugs?
how do you explain terrorism and torture?
how do you protect them if you can not protect your self?
how do you make sure they will grow up with a need to pray and they do not stray away from God.
how do you promise anything?
I guess they are not yours anyway, you can not do anything but your part of raising them right.
The rest is all in the hands of God.
How do all the mothers make it?
how do they sleep at night?
how do they make it seem easy?
up close to the children you can smell their diapers, you have to calm them down when they start crying becuase they hate the seat belt.
so many details the spectator takes for granted thinking being a mommy is only blissful.
but there is nothing more rewarding than taking care of a tiny person and being there for them.
kissing them goodnight and praying for their safety. God bless the children and strengthen the moms who do it all with a smile.

who ever said it was easy was wrong.
