the wisest cartoon character

they have criticized the movie "Avatar"

they said it is the same story line like Disney's magnificent "Pocahontas"!
and i think the story should be told over and over
it is one of those classics that the world needs to hear and see in different ways
because the adults of the world need a stronger attraction to get the message across
they made avatar in the way they did, something grown ups would be into

growing up i thought the little mermaid was my favorite disney character
but now i know Pocahontas is the wisest and most beautiful
all through out the movie she explains things some people live and die
and have no clue what they are

i love Disney and the beautiful animated master pieces of the world
but this one i am here to show you is one magical piece of art
it is one powerful message

i will always watch cartoons and i will never put the child in me to sleep
it is a joy that adults should not be prevented from just because they grew taller

i was once called Pocahontas and that brings me pride
because Pocahontas is a beautiful character inside and out
she is really a good person
she is wiser than "The Little Mermaid"
she is smarter than Belle from "Beauty and the Beast"
she is not a victim like "Cinderella"
and she did not just wait for prince charming to come and save her
and marry her, disney does not know how much damage this whole cinderella story did to so many little and big girls' heads !

she is not just a pretty princess in a castle,
young girls can look up to her
and they can find something worth looking up to in her

just to show how much the Disney princess obsession is playing with our little girls
my niece is an artist, for i have seen her coloring in ways that are more advanced than her
friends

i said: you are an artist sweetheart
she said: no! i just like to draw! but i am a princess!!!

and i was thinking what is a princess in her mind?
what does she do?
and why is it more appealing than having talent?
she wants the crown, the dress, and the prince!
that is where watching too many fairy tales messes you up

but pocahuntas is different she stood up to her people
she chose to stay on her land
at least in part one
she has guts, she has pride
she is a strong woman who knows the value of nature
and her message is very green

Pocahontas carries a political message against colonization, against every white man taking a land in an attempt to make it his own, thinking the only right way is putting the whole world in jeans and giving them the same diploma like theirs'. taking the goods of other peoples' land and calling it a favor or self defense.

when i saw Pocahontas i thought of Vietnam, of india when the british conquered it, i thought of Cuba, I thought of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Pocahontas should not be taken lightly, she is political and she talks to trees since she knows how much knowledge is in nature. She respects life and all the spirits around her. Just because she and her people do not drink the daily star bucks and wear nikes does not make her less intelligent. She speaks for nature, for animals and she respects all life. She speaks with power and she needs no gun. I wish governments would learn from her or that one day they speak of her message on C.N.N.

my beautiful niece watched Pocahontas, she was only 3 when she told me when I was sick to be steady like the river.
